Successful Open Evening
Our Open Evening this year was an extremely busy and exciting event with nearly 200 families that took the time to tour our wonderful academy.
In each department there were various activities going on, such as trampolining in PE, digital jigsaws in IT, keyring making in Technology and painting Day of the Dead Skulls in the Art Department.
The Science department was a hive of activity with lots going on. There were methane gas bubbles and flames tests, a ’shake me’ station which shows a reversible blue reaction and a buzzer game. Mr Evans had the microscopes set up in Biology with a heart and kidney dissection which proved to be popular.
Mrs Soden opened a French café for the evening with students making an appearance as French waiters and waitresses, serving delights such as croissants, pain au chocolat and camembert.
It was a fantastic evening for which we must give thanks to all the Student Ambassadors that kindly volunteered to showcase their academy and the staff who worked hard to make this event such a success.
