Safeguarding our students

At DSLV we take safeguarding children very seriously. All children have the right to be safe.

As such, we have invested in 14 designated safeguarding professionals, from heads of Year and Phase, to a brilliant welfare team including two very experienced lead practitioners for safeguarding.

We use a computerised system called CPOMS to record any issues and this allows all adults at the academy to report concerns. We have an open door policy for all issues around pupil safety, pupils can access support and guidance from lots of places at all times.

We work in partnership with external agencies including safeguarding, social care, the police, school nursing service and lots more to ensure that pupils are well looked after.
